Treatment

What we deal with here at Corporate Recovery Retreat is serious stuff: drug and alcohol dependency kills people. It destroys careers. Tears families apart. Addicts feel helpless to do anything, while drugs or alcohol eat away at their self-esteem, their accomplishments, their life force.

“Treatment” is not limited to stopping drug or alcohol use. To be successful, treatment must deal with medical, psychological, social, and career issues that may play a part in an individual’s use of alcohol or drugs. Without addressing these aspects of the patient’s life, an upset in any area can immediately trigger a relapse.

On arrival at our center, every patient is given a brief medical evaluation and assigned to a counselor. With years of training and experience in the field of drug and alcohol recovery, this counselor will be the patient’s single point of contact for all the services we provide.

Our program is based on solid principles that have proved their effectiveness in the lives of countless men and women who are now able to face life free from the ravages of addiction. Our staff is committed to offering patients all the support and care they need to succeed.

After the intake session and evaluation, some patients may need detoxification. This is the process of allowing the body to rid itself of the toxic remnants of the drugs or alcohol. The body is amazingly resilient, and most patients will have no long-term complications resulting from abuse of their “drug of choice.”

This doesn’t mean that detoxifying isn’t difficult—even painful—for the body. Without access to drugs or alcohol, the patient will experience withdrawal symptoms, which can range from merely uncomfortable to potentially lethal.

Through our association with a local physician-operated clinic where state of the art medications are used, our patients can detoxify painlessly under the supervision of medical professionals.

In addition to detoxifying the body, the patient must learn and integrate new constructive and rewarding behaviors not associated with substance abuse. Treatment also allows time for the patient to improve problem-solving abilities and address issues (such as work-related stress, financial problems or family dynamics) that were triggers for previous drug or alcohol use.

Finally, treatment must take the patient’s comfort into consideration. We understand that executives are accustomed to a certain degree of service and hospitality when they are away from home. In addition to our staff’s commitment to providing you the most effective treatment for addiction, we also strive to provide the highest level of comfort and care.
